Quite cheap (around 40 euros on amazon), and lasts way more than 24h: I changed my batteries 6 month ago, and it's still as bright as new, on an average of three or four 6hours use a month...
Unbreakable, lighter than an acetylène lamp, a good choice for long term use.
It uses 3 LR20 - D batteries (around 4 euros each),and trust me it lasts.
For the range, I don't have a precise distance, but with a simple internet search you'll be able to find any details you need.
It goes without saying that LED version is needed, for average lamp won't last this long on regular batteries.
